On Friday, May 5, Philander Smith College held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new 292-bed student housing facility. Members of the board of trustees, students, faculty, and staff members were there to witness the historic moment.

The 67,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility will provide their students with top-notch amenities and a comfortable living space, helping them to thrive both academically and socially. This is just the latest phase of Philander Smith’s #ForwardMovement, as they continue to pave the way for the actualization of their mission to produce world-class leaders who will change the world for the better
